Praying For Victory Over All Others

Canadian reformist Muslim Tarek Fatah wrote the following in the Toronto Sun, on Jan. 13, 2015:

“One of the reasons I avoid attending Friday congregations at mosques is a specific ritual supplication uttered by Imams at many mosques in Canada and around the world, just prior to our formal Friday community prayer, the Juma’a.

“In the supplication, the cleric prays to Allah for, among other things, to grant 'Muslims victory over the "Qawm al-Kafiroon,"' the Arabic phrase that lumps all non-Muslims — Jews, Hindus, Christians, Atheists, Buddhists and Sikhs — into one derogatory category, the 'Kuffar,' or non-Muslims.”

The whole idea of reforming Islam is folly. This is because the is really nothing good about the about Islam to base actual reform on. The is because the foundation of Islam is ,in essence so thoroughly deceptive and evil that no real reform is possible. As the Bible teaches "That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.' Ecclesiastes 1:15. [K.J.V.]

Ti those who really believe that Islam can be "reformed" then good, Go for it. Give it a try and if real reform happens,Great. Nevertheless, all things considered ,such a goal is unrealistic. The best that can really be hoped for is a non-violent, as in mild watered-down Islam. The fact is that even if such a watered down Islam increases there still will be that actual non-watered down hard core Islam around. This this non-watered down hard core Islam will still be as violence and murderous as ever.

Tarek Fatah may be taken in by his selective interpretation of the koran. Do not let him take you in as well.
allah is the key to islam. allah is the key to being a muslim. You can't be a muslim if you do not believe in allah.
But allah makes it quite clear that he hates non-muslims. He has promised that he will make non-muslims suffer in hell for eternity. No excuses. You non-muslims heard allah's message (didn't you?) and you non-muslims ignored the message. Failure to obey the message from allah makes non-muslims deserving the harshest punishment possible. Failure to obey makes non-muslims evil. That failure makes non-muslim sub-human.
If we take out allah from the koran, then there remains nothing of islam. After all he is the source of the koran, the definition of islam.
So whatever else we take out of the koran, whatever reforms to islam that we (in theory) might make, we are left with allah who hates non-muslims. A view that muslims, who by definition worship allah, must take. This is the most evil part of islam, and it cannot be removed.
No, Tarek Fatah may be deluding himself in believing the possibility that islam can be reformed. Reform of islam which will change its threat to humanity is impossible.

One of the most unusual articles on is Pleasantville and Islamic Supremacism.

It illustrates the Islamic Supremacist vision by showing the similarity between what happened in the movie, Pleasantville, and what devout fundamentalist Muslims are trying to create in Islamic states like Syria, Pakistan, or Saudi Arabia (and ultimately everywhere in the world).
