Facebook Allies

Saturday

Many people use Facebook to educate their friends and family about Islam, but what happens? They often post information and are met with...complete silence. Or with hostile responses. Often several of their friends or family join in to criticize them for posting such "racist" or "bigoted" articles.

Do you have this experience? It's very discouraging and upsetting. It can make you feel isolated and alone in your commitment. You can feel ostracized by your own inner circle.

But you know you are in a key position to educate your fellow non-Muslims about Islam, so you don't want to stop trying. You know that if you don't reach these people, probably nobody will. They won't get any good information from the news sources they read or watch (because people tend to seek information that resonates with their own beliefs), and they won't get any opposing opinions from any of their friends (because people tend to choose friends who agree with them). You may be the one last hope we have of reaching these people with genuine information about Islam's prime directive.

This article has some suggestions to help you fulfill your commitment effectively.

First, it will really help to gain some allies. Join a counterjihad group or two or more on Facebook, and when you see intelligent comments on posts there, visit the person's page, and if they seem like a good person, "friend" those people. Include a message to them that tells them you would like an ally.

Let's be allies for each other.

And when you see your new friend post something good on their personal page, give it a thumbs up or a positive comment, and they can do the same for you. Let your family and friends see that not everyone thinks as they do.

And if someone criticizes a post of yours, your new Facebook friends will probably add their own comments on your side of the argument, helping you feel less alone. This has a tremendously positive impact on your own psychology, and it has a positive influence on the person who made the negative comment (because of the principle of social proof). It will help change minds.

Another thing that will help is to add something to every link. Don't just post a link as-is. Use these tips to make a good-looking post, but also add a comment at the top that helps your family and friends understand what the implications are or why it's important to read it. Be simple and clear. Be calm and informed. Don't rant. Go out of your way not to give the impression you are an angry, hating person. It is an easy impression to give when your family and friends are multiculturalists who vehemently despise criticisms about Islam. So make a strong effort to understate your case and be as reasonable as humanly possible.

Post facts. Post specific examples. Post local stories. And don't do too many. No more than once a day. Be extremely selective. You don't want people to hide you because you dominate the postings too much. So be highly selective and only post the very best items. Don't post anything that's only "okay." Let's be smart about this, not just committed and enthusiastic.

You're trying to reach people who don't already believe as you do. If you post a lot, you may gather a lot of friends but they all already know enough about Islam. Those aren't the ones who most urgently need to be educated. So be selective about what you post.

And don't only post about Islam. They will think you are obsessed. Post other things that are interesting.

And use good timing. The best times to post something are Saturday and Sunday mornings. Post your very best things on those days — one per day, but make it a very good one. Save up your best things for the weekend. More people will see what you post on the weekend mornings, and they're more likely to have the time to read them.

The second best time to post something is in the early evening on week nights.

Let's use Facebook to advance the cause. And return the favor to your friends by not only posting, but checking your "home" page and seeing what your friends are posting and respond, support, help them argue too. Let's use the power of social proof to help change minds.

Facebook Counterjihad

Sunday

REVOLUTION MUSLIM shuts down Facebook pages that expose and criticize Islamic doctrine. Read more about that here and here. Apparently Facebook has an automated system for shutting down pages. With 500 million users, they would have to use an automated system. You can read more about how the system works here.

One possible way to fight back against this Islamic suppression of free speech is for
all of us to create Facebook pages that criticize and expose Islamic doctrine. They would be hard-pressed to find us all. We far outnumber them.

It's easy to set up a page on Facebook, and takes the coordinated efforts of many people to shut one down.

I'm not talking about your personal page. I'm talking about an "official page," separate from your own personal page. You may not want to post counterjihad information on your personal page.

So create an official page, join all the other counterjihad pages (see a list here), and let them all know about
your page. We can all become fans of each other's pages and simply overwhelm them with very little effort on our part!

Setting up a page is easy, and even though you set it up while signed in to your personal account, your page is not connected to your personal page, so your family and friends don't even need to know you're doing it. Once you have a page, post anything you think is worthy from any sources you have. Here's how to make a good Facebook post.

To create your Facebook page, go to Citizen Warrior on Facebook. In the right sidebar at the top you'll see a link that says, "Create a Page." Click on that, and using the left half of the form, click on the button for "Brand, product, or organization." You'll be given some options. Choose "Communications." Name your page whatever you want, and check the box that says you are the official representative of this brand.

That's it. You're all set up. Start inviting people to join your page. Post invitations to your page on other counterjihad pages. Here are more suggestions on how to find fans.

Nowhere on your official page does it say who started the page, so you can remain anonymous if you like.

Right now we have a numerical advantage. Let's use it to overwhelm the Facebook jihadis. Facebook is a powerful tool. Let's use it for all it's worth.

Using Facebook as a Citizen Warrior

Saturday

PLEASE JOIN groups on Facebook — groups working to defeat the third jihad. In other words, join groups that promote awareness of FGM, Geert Wilders, honor killing, Islamic teachings, etc. Why is this a good idea?

First of all, the increased numbers on their fan base give them greater legitimacy and authority. If someone comes to the page and there are only three fans, that has a different psychological impact (and less persuasive value) than a million fans would. So just "liking" the page does some good.

In addition to that, your Facebook friends and family can see what you "liked" and it can introduce them — in a very low-key, unconfrontational way — to causes they may never have heard about.

Not only that, "liking" these Facebook pages makes using Facebook more productive and satisfying, because a lot of the anti-jihad pages post some pretty good stuff. Here are some links to Facebook pages I recommend:

Citizen Warrior

Inquiry Into Islam

Defeat the Third Jihad

Islam Rising

NO TO THE MOSQUE AT GROUND ZERO

2 Million people against Female Genital Mutilation

ACT! for America

Honor Killing

Another Honor Killing Page

Honor Killing is Pure Evil

Jihad Watch

World-Wide Anti-Terror League

1,000,000 Against Jihad

FrontPage Magazine

The Steve Emerson Fan Page

Stop the islamisation of Europe

STOP ISLAMISATION

Geert Wilders

Geert Wilders, We Want Your Facebook Page Back

Stop islamization of America

Stop Islamization of Canada

STOP THE ISLAMIZATION OF AUSTRALIA

Izlamic

I recommend you join them all, but not all at once. "Like" these pages one at a time, every few days or so. This will do two things: Prevent your loved ones from worrying that you've gone off the deep end (if they see you suddenly join twenty counterjihad pages). And it gives your Facebook friends more of an opportunity to see these pages — twenty opportunities rather than one.

Why not print this list out, and cross them off as you "like" them?

Strengthen the Forces of Liberty on Facebook

Thursday

FACEBOOK has provided a new way to wage war against Islamic supremacism, and we should take advantage of it. Citizen Warrior is on Facebook, so click here to join us. What else can you do on Facebook? Here's what I recommend:

1. Join groups and causes. There are lots of a good groups and causes on Facebook, and each cause acts as a sifter of sorts. So if you join the cause, for example, 1,000,000 against Jihad, you have already filtered out anyone who would not join such a group. Almost everyone who joined the cause is on our side.

2. Invite people in those groups to be your friends. Do it a little at a time. Facebook doesn't let you just go through and invite a thousand people a day to be your friends. They consider it spamming. But you can invite ten every day. When you invite someone to be your friend, you have the opportunity to write a message. I recommend you use that opportunity and write something like this: "Hello John. I am committed to stopping Islam's relentless encroachment and because both of us are members of the group
2 Million people against Female Genital Mutilation, we share a common goal, so I think we should be friends."

Not everyone will accept, but many will. Over time, you can have hundreds of people who are interested in defeating the third jihad.

And you don't have to confine yourself to inviting people who are already committed. You can find other causes that may be related, and invite those people. That way, you can introduce new people to the cause. If they start being negative or leaving harassing comments on your page, you can UNmake them your friend. It's easy. Go to their page, and scroll down to the bottom left-hand side, and you'll see, "Remove from Friends." Click on that, and they can't leave comments on your page any more.

3. Post an exceptionally good article on your Facebook page every day or every other day or once a week or whatever. Your friends will see these and if the post looks interesting, they'll read it. This keeps the mission alive in others and increases their knowledge. It also introduces uninitiated people to the cause because often
your friends will put some of your posts on their pages, so you're helping to spread awareness and information on Islamic supremacism, which is the most important thing that needs to be done right now.

Make your post on Facebook look good. It helps give your post a certain amount of credibility and authority when it is professionally done. Here's how: Go to an article you want to share and copy the URL. Then go to your Facebook page and click on "Post Link." Paste the URL there and click on "Preview." It will show the title of the article and a little bit of the article itself. Click on the title and change it if you want. Usually, for example, the first part of the title will be the name of the blog. You can remove the name of the blog to make the title shorter and more eye-catching.

Now go back to the article (in a different window) and take the juiciest, most enticing, intriguing two paragraphs in the article and select them. Right click and copy the text. Go back to
Facebook and click on the text below the title and paste your paragraphs there. Then click "Post." Now you've got a good-looking post with a pithy excerpt that will make people want to read the article.

If you use
Facebook mainly for friends and family, and if your friends and family don't like your interest in the freedom movement (the counterjihad movement), you can sign up on Facebook as a different name, and use it for promoting freedom in the way I've described above. Then you can sign in as either identity (in other words, you can have two accounts).

Another alternative is to keep your Facebook account as it is, but post a link or article only every week or so, and keep it low-key. Post "beginner" material — the kind of stuff that might not offend too many people, but still says something valuable.

Sometimes someone in your family may make a comment on one of your posts, arguing with you or criticizing you or the article. If this happens and you don't know how to answer it, check out the Answers to Objections.

If you can't find an answer there, please
write to me and I'll help you formulate an answer. I'm serious about this. I want to know what people are saying. This is where the battle is taking place — right at the point where someone who knows about the third jihad says something to someone who doesn't, and the response is negative. If we don't handle those moments well, we will lose this war. It's that simple.

So write to me. I will help you, and I will probably post the answer as an article too, because if someone says it to you, others are probably hearing the same retort.

4. Post a good political cartoon or picture that says a thousand words. You can post a picture one of two ways: You can download the picture onto your computer and then upload it onto
Facebook (by clicking on "Add Photos") or you can click on the picture wherever you find it. Usually clicking on a picture will take you to a page that has nothing on it but the picture. Now copy the URL and paste it into "Post Link." After it's posted, if the picture is small, you can edit the post. One of the options is to make it larger.

Pictures capture the eye. Each person on
Facebook has a home page and can see the activity of all their friends. Pictures you post on your page stand out on all your friends' home pages, and will attract attention. One of the reasons pictures are appealing is because they represent a very small investment of time. People will often take the moment to look at a picture when they might not stop to read an article. So post pictures once in awhile in addition to articles.

By using
Facebook in these ways, you can join with others, you can help gain recruits to the cause, you can help educate the public, and you can lend your weight to many worthy causes. Join the Facebook revolution and defeat the third jihad using one of our most powerful weapons: Freedom of speech.

Here are some causes I recommend you join right away.

Article Spotlight

One of the most unusual articles on CitizenWarrior.com is Pleasantville and Islamic Supremacism.

It illustrates the Islamic Supremacist vision by showing the similarity between what happened in the movie, Pleasantville, and what devout fundamentalist Muslims are trying to create in Islamic states like Syria, Pakistan, or Saudi Arabia (and ultimately everywhere in the world).
