Islamic Doctrine in Action

Wednesday

As perplexing as it may be to non-Muslims, jihad is a form of worship.

Allah discouraged Muslims from passive expressions of faith. To prove one's faith, Allah demands action. Specifically and most importantly, jihad — fighting in the way of Allah. Fighting to establish the legal domination of Islam. It is Islam's prime directive.

You and I may think it is wrong, but to a Muslim, it is right. It is commanded by Allah. What could be more right than that to someone who believes it?

The world must awaken to the existence of such a creed and stop blinding itself with wishful thinking. This is not going to go away.

Why Are There Peaceful Muslims?

Friday

A READER asked this question: "If the Koran was arranged out of chronological order and Mohammed started out a nice guy and then turned into a "Psycho-Killer," why don't some of his earlier, more peaceful teachings contradict his later, more violent teachings and consequently prevail?"

It's a good question. As you probably know, Mohammad's chapters (called "Suras") are not in chronological order in most versions of the Koran. It is traditional to have them arranged in the order of the Suras' length. But when two passages conflict, the mullahs decide which passage overwrites which by looking back to the chronological order rather than the traditional order.

They know with certainty what order the chapters were written in. But the chapters are arranged from the longest to the shortest chapter (except for the first chapter), and that has become the traditional way to arrange them.

Unfortunately, the most intolerant, violent passages in the Koran are chronologically later. So they abrogate (supersede or overwrite) the earlier, more tolerant passages.

So then the question is, "Then why are there any peaceful Muslims?"

Peaceful Muslims come about for three reasons:

1. Muslims are, of course, human beings and most people do not want to be violent. Mohammad anticipated this and told Muslims they had to be intolerant and even violent whether they liked it or not (and as a test of their faith), but people do their best to ignore these very direct Islamic teachings. And they tend to ignore the teachings rather than speak out against them because it can be dangerous to contradict or criticize the Koran. More devout believers can become quite violent and intolerant when a fellow Muslim criticizes any Islamic teaching.

2. If the Muslim is living in a non-Muslim majority country and violence (or even intolerance) would impede the ultimate victory of Islam, then peaceful behavior is called for, at least for the moment. Mohammad anticipated this too (the possibility of a Muslim living in a Muslim-minority country) and provided ideas for many other ways to work toward eventually gaining control of the laws of the country (Islam's prime directive) — by having lots of children, trying to convert others, giving money to Muslim organizations, etc. I'm sure many Muslims are quite happy to avoid living a life of political agitation, and this way they get to satisfy their Islamic obligations while enjoying a peaceful life in a free country.

3. And of course, a Muslim can always pretend to be peaceful while actively working toward violent goals. Apparently nice people have occasionally been known to be intolerant and even violent.

Introducing An Inquiry Into Islam

Monday

MOST SITES that write about Islam (and are written by non-Muslims) are offensive to a lot of people, and some of them are people we need to reach. If the only people we try to educate are people who already know what we know, of course, we're just singing to the choir and essentially wasting our time.

We need ways to reach people who feel an aversion to anything that smacks of bigotry. That's why I want to turn everyone onto the web site, An Inquiry Into Islam. The purpose of the site is to provide us — people who already know about the terrifying brilliance of Islam — material to share with people who don't know much about it.

I copied several of the best articles from Citizen Warrior to the new site, but then I assiduously edited them for a new audience: For someone who is deeply skeptical of any criticism of Islam, for someone who thinks it is racism or bigotry to criticize Islam, for someone who wants the straight story but is skeptical of anyone who seems even the slightest bit "conservative."

The web site is set up with a very limited number of available articles, and that won't change. All the articles are at the top right of every page, so navigation is extremely easy. The sight looks bright, clean, and simple. It is as user-friendly as I could make it. I also made it as unbiased and neutral in its point of view as possible.

I invite you to poke around and send me suggestions on improving it. Do I say anything that has too rough an edge that might turn people away? Let's make this a tool we can use to help awaken the people in our lives to the incredibly surprising truth about orthodox, mainstream Islam. I hope you can find good uses for it.

Check it out: An Inquiry Into Islam.

The Latest Update on the Geert Wilders Trial

A DEFENDER of the free (and a frequent commenter on CitizenWarrior.com) just alerted me to a web site devoted to staying up to date on the Geert Wilders trial. Excellent. Check it out:

Thank you, Damien! The latest update says: "The criminal proceedings against Geert Wilders will continue in October of this year. The dates of absence of the people involved in the proceedings prevent the case coming up for trial sooner. The last expert-witnesses will be heard on the 28th of June."

I see no way to subscribe to the updates via email yet, but there is a way to get email updates on any blog using the RSS feed. Just go here:

http://www.feedblitz.com/f/f.fbz?AddFeed

And paste in the RSS feed address for Wilders on Trial, which is:

Maybe Hell Froze Over

Tuesday

SOMETHING WONDERFUL happened. Time Magazine published an article that takes the military to task for being too politically correct! Wow. In an article by Mark Thompson, entitled, "The Fort Hood Report: Why No Mention of Islam?" he writes:

"...the lessons of 9/11, Afghanistan and Iraq, where jihadist extremism has driven deadly violence against Americans, are being not merely overlooked but studiously ignored."

I couldn't have put it better myself. In an effort to be politically correct or to avoid offending someone, the military has been deliberately overlooking what any fool can discover with a few hours of reading the Qur'an — that Islam is not a religion of peace.

But the era of blind multiculturalism is coming to an end. The stakes are too high now.

I'd like to thank Damien and Bosch Fawstin for bringing this encouraging milestone to my attention.

Geert Wilder's Hearing

Monday

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010, the trial of Geert Wilders began with a hearing. If you are not familiar with Geert's situation, go here. At the hearing, Geert gave this speech:

Mister Speaker, judges of the court,

I would like to make use of my right to speak for a few minutes.

Freedom is the most precious of all our attainments and the most vulnerable. People have devoted their lives to it and given their lives for it. Our freedom in this country is the outcome of centuries. It is the consequence of a history that knows no equal and has brought us to where we are now.

I believe with all my heart and soul that the freedom in the Netherlands is threatened. That what our heritage is, what generations could only dream about, that this freedom is no longer a given, no longer self-evident.

I devote my life to the defence of our freedom. I know what the risks are and I pay a price for it every day. I do not complain about it; it is my own decision. I see that as my duty and it is why I am standing here.

I know that the words I use are sometimes harsh, but they are never rash. It is not my intention to spare the ideology of conquest and destruction, but I am not any more out to offend people. I have nothing against Muslims. I have a problem with Islam and the Islamization of our country because Islam is at odds with freedom.

Future generations will wonder to themselves how we in 2010, in this place, in this room, earned our most precious attainment. Whether there is freedom in this debate for both parties and thus also for the critics of Islam, or that only one side of the discussion may be heard in the Netherlands? Whether freedom of speech in the Netherlands applies to everyone or only to a few? The answer to this is at once the answer to the question whether freedom still has a home in this country.

Freedom was never the property of a small group, but was always the heritage of us all. We are all blessed by it.

Lady Justice wears a blindfold, but she has splendid hearing. I hope that she hears the following sentences, loud and clear:

It is not only a right, but also the duty of free people to speak against every ideology that threatens freedom. Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States was right: The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

I hope that the freedom of speech shall triumph in this trial.

In conclusion, Mister Speaker, judges of the court.

This trial is obviously about the freedom of speech. But this trial is also about the process of establishing the truth. Are the statements that I have made and the comparisons that I have taken, as cited in the summons, true? If something is true then can it still be punishable? This is why I urge you to not only submit to my request to hear witnesses and experts on the subject of freedom of speech. But I ask you explicitly to honour my request to hear witnesses and experts on the subject of Islam. I refer not only to Mister Jansen and Mister Admiraal, but also to the witness/experts from Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Without these witnesses, I cannot defend myself properly and, in my opinion, this would not be an fair trial.

See him give the speech (in Dutch) here: Weblog Geertwilders.

Update on Geert's trial: Wilders' trial to resume in February.

Illegal to Criticize Islam?

In response to Geert Wilder's trial in the Netherlands, Rusty Shackleford wrote:

"To single out Islam as the sole religion which cannot be criticized is to give it state sanctioned protection not enjoyed by other religious communities. It is, in fact, just what many of the critics say it is: creeping sharia.

"Because in the Netherlands, just like in Saudi Arabia, it is perfectly legal to criticize Christianity. But it is against the law to criticize Islam!"

Bill Gates Tells The Truth In Saudi Arabia

I HAVE BEEN reading The Women's Crusade in the New York Times, and came across the following passage and I knew I had to share it with you.

Bill Gates recalls once being invited to speak in Saudi Arabia and finding himself facing a segregated audience. Four-fifths of the listeners were men, on the left. The remaining one-fifth were women, all covered in black cloaks and veils, on the right. A partition separated the two groups. Toward the end, in the question-and-answer session, a member of the audience noted that Saudi Arabia aimed to be one of the Top 10 countries in the world in technology by 2010 and asked if that was realistic. “Well, if you’re not fully utilizing half the talent in the country,” Gates said, “you’re not going to get too close to the Top 10.” The small group on the right erupted in wild cheering.

Bill Gates just went up a few notches in my esteem. The article I've quoted here was written by Sheryl WuDunn and Nicholas D. Kristof, the authors of
Half the Sky and the creators of the Girl Effect. I urge you to throw yourself into helping girls around the world. Go to the Girl Effect website and get involved. Recruit your friends and family into the cause. This is a purpose we can all get behind. Join the Girl Effect on FaceBook to get updates.

Article Spotlight

One of the most unusual articles on CitizenWarrior.com is Pleasantville and Islamic Supremacism.

It illustrates the Islamic Supremacist vision by showing the similarity between what happened in the movie, Pleasantville, and what devout fundamentalist Muslims are trying to create in Islamic states like Syria, Pakistan, or Saudi Arabia (and ultimately everywhere in the world).
