Flex fuel isn't useful for most of the country or most of the year. There's a reason why it's mostly used in Central and South America, and it's because it only works when it's warm out. When it's cold the cars switch over to gas, hence the term 'flex.'

It's arguably even a step in the wrong direction, too, because it actually upholds the oil monopoly. Natural gas for cars would be much better, cheaper, more useful, and more do-able. It would also actually cut off foreign oil rather than simply cut usage and raise the price sky-high so the jihad gets just as much money.

Our representatives should be pushing for a Manhattan Project for a zero-emissions vehicle. The car company bailouts should have been contingent upon their creation of just that. Nothing short of that could hypothetically save the American car industry in the long-run anyway.

Sorry to be so cynical, but only some people can use flex fuel, and then , only some of the time. OPEC will raise prices and the jihad will get just as much money, while liberals can regulate yet another aspect of our lives at our expense. As long as there's OPEC oil is an all-or-nothing proposition. Flex fuel is not the answer. A zero-emissions car is the answer (AND LIBERALS CAN GET BEHIND IT, which is the best part), and natural gas vehicles are a short-term solution.
