Here's a nice little piece of news. It's not a huge thing, but every little bit helps.

Tribes help U.S. against al-Qaeda - USATODAY.com: "More than 10 Iraqi tribes in the Baghdad area have reached agreements with U.S. and Iraqi forces for the first time to oppose al-Qaeda, raising the U.S. military's hopes that a trend started in western Iraq is spreading here."

Some of the tribes are many thousand strong. The more allies the U.S. and the new Iraqi government have within the country, the better.
