Is Defeating The Third Jihad Even Possible?
Tuesday, June 19
"You can't defeat the Jihadis."
IF YOU THINK THOUGHTS like these, you're not alone. The helplessness and hopelessness those thoughts display are fairly common. The beliefs have become widespread because of a natural imperfection in the way the brain thinks combined with the influence of the media.
The consequences of this pervasive feeling of helplessness cannot be overstated. Now, more than any other time in history, it is vital for each of us in the free world to eliminate any traces of defeatist thinking, first from our own minds, and then from the minds of people we know.
Why?
Because defeatist thinking prevents us from taking the actions we must take. The belief that nothing can be done stops us from even trying. So the actions that can be taken are not being taken.
The belief in helplessness becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.
After you have eliminated most of the naturally-occurring defeatist thinking from your mind, then you can look at the question with clear eyes. Can the third jihad be defeated? Can an ordinary citizen do anything about it?
With clear eyes, you'll see the answer is yes to both questions.
If you don't think so yet, follow the steps outlined below. If you are already quite clear that the answers are yes, move directly to Phase Two. Otherwise, here's what you can do to cure your own defeatism:
1. Look at your own explanations of events and remove the mistakes.
2. Learn how you are influenced by the media to feel helpless and find ways to minimize it.
3. If you are ready to do a little something and consider it at least possible that Islamic supremacism can be at least reduced, and would like to consider it in more detail, read What Can I Do Specifically?
